LITIGATION ASSOCIATE

Hybrid (3 Days In-Office, 2 Remote)

Are you a litigation lawyer with 2+ years of post-call experience in Ontario looking to build your courtroom exposure, refine your advocacy skills, and work directly with clients on meaningful cases? Our client, a prominent Toronto-based law firm, is actively hiring a Junior Litigation Associate to join their growing team.

This is a hybrid role based in downtown Toronto, offering a collaborative environment, strong mentorship from senior litigators, and exposure to commercial, civil, and employment litigation files from start to finish.

🔍 Key Responsibilities:

• Manage litigation files under senior supervision, from initial pleadings to resolution

• Draft pleadings, affidavits, motion materials, and mediation briefs

• Conduct legal research, case analysis, and prepare client memos and opinions

• Appear in case conferences, motions, and examinations as experience allows

• Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and experts

• Assist with trial preparation, including preparation of witness lists, exhibits, and summaries

• Work with litigation support tools including CaseLines, ACL, and CanLII

✅ What You Bring to the Table:

• 2+ years of litigation experience in an Ontario law firm or boutique

• Strong working knowledge of Ontario’s Rules of Civil Procedure and courtroom procedure

• Confident written and oral advocacy skills

• Experience managing files or parts of files independently

• Juris Doctor (JD) or LL.B and member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario

• Excellent time management and a proactive approach to legal problem-solving
