ESTATE LITIGATION LAW CLERK

Are you a highly experienced Estates Litigation Law Clerk with 5+ years of hands-on experience managing complex estate disputes in Ontario? Join a leading Toronto law firm and work alongside lawyers handling will challenges, power of attorney disputes, guardianship applications, and estate trustee litigation. This is a hybrid opportunity offering a dynamic legal environment, strong mentorship, and the chance to take ownership of sophisticated estate litigation files.

🔍 Key Responsibilities:

• Draft court documents including applications, affidavits, motion records, and certificates of appointment of estate trustee (with/without a will)

• Coordinate service, filing, and electronic submissions via CaseLines and Justice Services Online (JSO)

• Manage estate litigation files from inception to resolution, including will challenges, passing of accounts, and dependent support claims

• Maintain detailed file records, correspondence, and client communications

• Prepare briefs, books of authorities, and hearing materials

• Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third-party professionals

• Track key dates, limitation periods, and ensure procedural compliance under the Rules of Civil Procedure

✅ Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estates Litigation Law Clerk in Ontario

• In-depth understanding of estate litigation procedures, including Rule 74 and Rule 75.1 of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure

• Proficiency in court filings, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite

• Exceptional drafting, file organization, and time management skills

• Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent legal education
