We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant to join our legal team in Edmonton. This role involves providing comprehensive support to our litigation lawyers, managing a wide range of administrative and legal tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in litigation, be adept at managing multiple priorities, and possess excellent communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist litigation lawyers in preparing for trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings.

  • Draft, edit, and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.

  • Manage case files and documents, ensuring all materials are organized and easily accessible.

  • Coordinate schedules, including arranging meetings, court dates, and deadlines.

  • Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel as necessary.

  • Conduct legal research and compile information to assist lawyers in case preparation.

  • Handle administrative duties, including answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certificate in legal assistant studies, paralegal studies, or a related field.

  • 6+ years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in a litigation environment.

  • Familiarity with legal procedures and documentation related to litigation.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with legal management software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
